Reviews
Came here for dinner and had the shoyu with pork belly and the miso with BBQ chicken ramen. The shoyu ramen had a clear broth, clean tasting but the added yuzu oil was quite overpowering with the citrusy flavour. Would be great if they had it on the side so you can adjust. Pork belly was quite lean but tender, marinated egg was perfectly cooked with a creamy yolk; and the king oyster mushroom and the Chinese broccoli made this ramen taste healthy. Preferred the miso ramen which had a strong depth of flavour paired with the tasty BBQ chicken seasoned with spices and some vegetables to change up the flavour such as the burnt cabbage and the buttered corn. Also had the ice cream pie for dessert which was a matcha and black sesame flavour during this visit. The ice cream was dense and creamy with a hard biscuit base which tasted like Anzac biscuit (sweet honey taste).
Great music, great setup, great restaurant, excellent food! A must when in Fitzroy.
ORDERED:
π Shoyu (seasoned with soy sauce) with pork belly: Pork belly, nori, spring onion, marinated egg, king oyster mushrooms, Chinese broccoli, housemade ramen noodles with free range chicken bone broth ($22.50)
+ π yuzu oil ($1.50)
It was $24.91pp!
REVIEW:
Walk in only, Shop Ramen is bigger than it seems! There's a large communal table, and a couple of smaller tables dotted around the side and some outside space as well.
π¦ With a little merch shop by the doorway, bottles and cardboard boxes lining the wall, naked light bulbs dangling by the wire - it feels like a very casual fit out.

The ramen delivered. Shoyu is quite a plain broth compared to its creamier cousin, but it's easy and comforting to consume. The pork belly was glutinous, marinated egg yolky with chinese broccoli that was snappy. π₯
If you need more flavour like I did, there's some condiments like sesame seeds or chilli powder on the table that you add to make the broth more nutty/spicy! πΆ
The yuzu oil was an interesting addition. You definitely get the citrusy taste, and it's just a fun and unique concept that I haven't seen anywhere else. The flavour does become less noticeable as you head down to the depths of the bowl though.
However, this experience has confirmed my belief that I personally prefer creamier broths over soy based ones. π
Service was friendly and quite attentive. They offer to take your bowl away once they see you've finished the dish or are quick to refill water carafes! The staff are efficient and I always appreciate that. π
OmG what an experience. Just the best
Hands down, best ramen in Melbourne.
Literally the cutest Ramen Bar Iβve ever been to. The servings are huge and absolutely delicious. Itβs a small place but sitting outside on the street is really nice.
The ramen is one of the best in Melbourne. The broth is very rich. Chicken and pork cuts are tender and juicy and full of flavours.
No small change does not give you a reason to charge extra
